ADD & ADHD

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 3 years old. I started to take Ritlan when I was 9 years old. When I was 14 years old, I changed to another medication called Concerta. But when I reached 17, I still couldn't control my emotions. I also developed anxiety before I started acupuncture treatment. I lost my focus and I couldn’t study. I came to Dr. Zhang. After about 7 weeks of treatment I gradually cut down on my medication. My anxiety disappeared and I could study again. I regained balance in my life.

Baby sleeping problem

My baby is only 6 months old. He couldn’t sleep well during the day or during the night since he was born. Plus, he always cried. No one in my family could get a good nights sleep. Bronchitis

Every year at the onset of winter, the flu virus seems to find me first. Then, inevitably I have to endure bronchitis for many weeks on end. In past years, I have used over the counter medications to no avail. I was treated with antibiotics, but I was usually having to put up with full-blown bronchitis before medication was prescribed. Asthma

I've suffered from asthma for over 20 years with only half a functioning lung. I had rapid breathing and coughed up thick, sticky sputum. I also sweated a lot. After five weeks of herbal therapy, my symptoms were relieved and I could resume my fitness exercises without shortness of breath. Mike D.

Cancer

I am an 85 year old who has suffered from anal cancer. When I was diagnosed with anal cancer, it was 3cm long. I didn’t want to go through radiation therapy and luckily, I found Dr. Zhang. Zhang and the Dentist

A 67-year-old lady had car accident 3 years ago tells her story:
I had a car accident 3 years ago. When I walking down the street, a car hit me. After the accident, I had a bad headache, neck pain/stiffness, and shoulder and upper back pain. Later on, I became depressed as those pains bothered me around the clock. After the accident, I tried every treatment I could find, and went to a lot of specialists. All they could do was give me painkillers, anti-depressions, tranquilizers, and sleeping pills for my problems. Medications helped ease the pain a little, but the side effects of those medications created new health problems. Having a hope of reducing the medication, I came to see Dr. Zhang. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome & Tennis elbow

I had a long-standing neck problem. My neck was very stiff and tight. I could only turn my neck a little bit. Sometimes after sleeping, my neck would be very sore. My hands were tingling all the time and they sometimes bothered me when I tried to sleep. My friend introduced me to Dr. Zhang. Before I saw Dr. Zhang, I was not sure if he could help me because I’ve tried a lot of therapies and visited a lot of doctors but no one was able to help me. I thought that acupuncture wouldn't be able to help me either. I felt a difference in my pains after the third acupuncture treatment with Dr. Zhang. My neck loosened up, my hand didn’t tingle very often anymore, and I could sleep well again. After about 10 acupuncture treatments, I was relieved from my problem. Acupuncture is very effective! Disc Problems

Before I came to see Dr. Zhang, I had been to a spinal doctor, a neurologist, a chiropractor and my general physician. I was taking 15 pills a day, and was still in pain. It affected my whole life. Sciatica

I’m Jeff, a truck driver. I suffered from sciatica. I had tingling and numbness in my right leg and it was very painful. I couldn't sleep andI sometimes teared up from the pain. Depression

Lots of people suffer from depression. They know anti-depression medication has a lot of side effects, but they think taking the medication is better than becoming crazy. People are not aware that the anti-depressant medication they take only covers up the deep-rooted symptoms, whereas Acupuncture gives them the permanent relief they need. I suffered from depression for more than 30 years. I was very emotional and easily got upset for no reason. Later on, I developed insomnia too. Fibromyalgia

I've suffered from fibromyalgia for 20 years. I had pain in my neck, shoulder, upper & lower back, hips, left leg and feet. I had to take painkillers, relaxing pills and two sleeping pills every day. After two months of acupuncture treatment, I didn't need the pills anymore. Now I only need one sleeping pill every day. I feel great. Acupuncture is amazing.

Gallstone

I had gallstones for six years. I didn't want to have an operation so I searched the internet and found that acupuncture and herbal medicine can help my problem. I took Zhang’s herbal and acupuncture treatments for one month. When I went to get a scan, it showed that the stones had disappeared. Acupuncture and herbal therapies are very effective. I learned from Dr. Zhang that acupuncture and herbal therapy can prevent the stones from coming back.

Hay fever/Allergy

I was very sensitive to season changes. I was allergic to flowers, grass, trees and even eggs. To relieve the symptoms, I would take four allergy shots every four weeks. This went on for eight years before visiting Dr. Zhang. After eight acupuncture sessions, I was basically free of symptoms. No more headaches, itching eyes and running nose. Hip pain and Hoarse voice and sore throat

I had some foot surgery which was successful. Unfortunately, because of the fact that I had to wear a large, ungainly post-operative shoe and had to walk on my heel, I threw my pelvis and hip out of place. After several sessions of physiotherapy and X-Rays, the prognosis was that there was a lot of arthritis in the hip joint and that “down the road” I would need a hip replacement. So I went to Dr. Zhang to try acupuncture. After 6 treatments of acupuncture I had stopped limping and the pain in my hip disappeared.

I suffered from a very hoarse voice and sore throat for about 3 months. After many examinations and tests, there didn’t appear to be anything wrong. IBS

IBS is one of the most common disorders seen by primary physicians. However, there are no structural abnormalities that can be seen by x-ray, endoscope, or blood tests. So far, main stream medicine has no cure for IBS. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicines restore health by balancing and improving the flow of chi, helping to promote the body’s natural healing ability and also cleanses the system. Colitis

I had a bad case of colitis. I had 2 weeks of bleeding and mucous. I also had continuous diarrhea, more than 20 times a day. It was very disturbing. I had examinations with my family doctor and at a hospital. I was told that I would have to wait 6 months for an appointment with a specialist. It was ridiculous. I became desperate due to the severity of my problem and went to Dr. Zhang for acupuncture. I was skeptical about acupuncture at first, but wondered to myself, "Hey, what do i have to lose?" After assessing my problem, Dr. Zhang prescribed some special herbal tea. I also started a weekly acupuncture session with him. Within a couple weeks of acupuncture, all the symptoms went away and I was healthy again. I think that without Dr. Zhang and his acupuncture, I might have died - he saved my life.

Acid Reflux Problem & Dizzy Spells

I suffered from acid reflux for a long time. The symptoms occurred especially at night. Dr. Zhang prescribed some special herbal tea for me. I felt some relief after the first dose and continued to take it for six days. I have had no
re-occurence of the symptoms. I have also suffered from dizzy spells for almost 30 years. I got my relief from Dr. Zhang's acupuncture remedies. Now I can enjoy my gardening again.

Insomnia & Hot Flash

I was having trouble getting a good night's sleep. My family doctor had prescribed sleeping pills, but I found these to be ineffective. They also left me feeling exhausted and I was unable to perform the next day. Lack of sleep left me depressed and uninterested in anything that required energy.

After assessing my problems, Dr. Zhang started a weekly acupuncture session, along with some herbal seeds that are to be taken before bed, and another treatment in my ears. I must confess that I was a little skeptical about acupuncture and chinese medicine at first, but after I began to experience a better sleeping pattern soon after I started acupuncture. I began to realize that it was also easier to relax. Stressful things did not create as much tension as they had previously. I now enjoy a restful night’s sleep, feel calmer, and have more energy.

Shoulder Pains

Several years ago, I was diagnosed with a calcium deposit in my right shoulder. The pain was incredible. When it flared up, I couldn’t even raise my arm. It was unmovable and sometimes, I teared up from the pain. I went through two years of treatment and physiotherapy. I had several cortisone shots in the shoulder and was finally sent to a specialist. I was injected once again with cortisone and advised that if it worked, it would last for approximately 5 years. If it didn’t work, I would need surgery. The pain subsided and all is well until one day, I awoke with the same symptoms, only this time in my left shoulder. I managed to get pretty upset knowing what I was going to have to go through. Once again, the pain was very intense. It was Sunday and the physiotherapist’s office was closed. I had noticed Dr. Zhang’s office in Hopedale Mall several times and decided to see if he could ease the pain until I got to the doctor or physiotherapist.
I was pretty skeptical at the time but thought “What can it hurt?” He took me in right away and explained how acupuncture worked, what the benefits were, and proceeded with acupuncture treatment. Wow! A Miracle! I was in shock! The relief was immediate. After another three acupuncture sessions, the pain was gone and I had complete movement in my shoulder and arm. I am now a true convert.

I’m Mike. I’m young but my male sexual functions aren't working properly. I didn't want to take medication because of the side effects. Skin Problems

I've been diagnosed with psoriasis for more than 20 years. I work in a Toronto hospital. My doctor gave me countless creams, but they with no effect. Both of my hands were rough like sandpaper and were constantly itching and burning. I even couldn’t sleep at all. One of my friends recommended me to see Dr. Zhang for acupuncture. Snoring

Many people snore. It is not only harmful to their health, but affects their family’s sleeping habits. Dr. Zhang helped a 35-year old client who snored loudly.

I’m Ken from Oakville. I snore very loud, but it allows me to have a solid sleep. My wife on the other hand, could sleep because of my snoring and constantly complained. She always used her elbow to wake me up and tried to sleep before I started to snore. Sometimes she had to use ear plugs to get some sleep. My snoring drove her crazy. Stop Smoking

Many people tried nicotine gum and associated products to quit smoking. Some people may have breathing, stomach problems, and low energy problems when trying to quit. Acupuncture is very successful in helping to quit smoking and is also very effective to help cope with the withdrawal symptoms.

Dr. Zhang has helped over 150 patients quit smoking. He sets up a daily acupuncture session and usually, the patients are able to quit within seven days.

Stroke Recovery

I suffered a stroke in 2003. My right hand looked like it was made of “stone” and I couldn’t even open it. My right leg was very weak. It was even difficult to walk at a normal pace. I've had stroke recovery rehabilitation at Trillium Hospital. I've also visited my physiatrist twice a week, but with little improvement. I was considering go to California to see a famous physiotherapist, when my friend suggested me to visit Zhang’s clinic and try acupuncture. Before I visited Zhang, I was doubtful about it. I was constantly wondering: “Does it work?” Amazingly, I started to see some improvement after my first acupuncture treatment. After 2 months of acupuncture with Dr. Zhang, I could open my right hand completely. I also started to feel more flexibility in my leg. If I knew acupuncture was so effective for stroke I would have came earlier.
Dr. Zhang told me if I had come to see him at the beginning stages of my stroke, I would've been see a bigger difference, quicker. So, when my friend got a stroke and was still hospitalized, I told her about my miracle. She had Dr. Zhang come over to the hospital and help her. Bells Palsy

I lost my face balance for 2 months. I lost balance in my left eye and in the left side of my mouth. I was very upset. Some of my symptoms were tears and drool. Saliva kept coming out of my mouth. I continued acupuncture treatment for 2 months. Then my face balance returned.

Multiple sclerosis
I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 2 years ago and my immune system doesn't function well. I tried every treatment I could find and none worked.
